Scene: Target, South Bend, IN; Saturday after Christmas. Three sisters idly browse the juniors' department (yes, petite twentysomething is still 'junior' in my book) and happen upon this:
Immediate reaction: No no no no no no no (Target sells elastic waist jeeeeeans) no no no no no no (this isn't happeeeeening) no no no no no (checks to see if we may have wandered into the maternity section - no) no no no no no (grabs offending pants) no no no no no (attempts to hide elastic waist pants in the petcare section between bags of cat litter).
World goes black.
And... scene.

Well, there isn't the panel in front, so it can't be maternity pants. It would of been extra funny if Isaac Mizrahi were the designer.
